Artists for Animals Acution, Jeni Houser Alasad, Madison Cat Project, NKP Designs, Sue-Lin Tarnowski

The Artists for Animals Auction starts on Monday, November 1, 2021 and runs through Sunday, November 7, 2021. Artists put their handmade goods up for auction and donate the money to their chosen animal charity. I’ve chosen Madison Cat Project.

Let me show you a few more items I’ll be auctioning off.

Polymer bud drops, gold frosted Czech glass and floral polymer disk bead earrings.

These earrings have disk beads and headpins by Humblebeads along with some Czech glass. I love the colors in these.

Pink, orange and black cathedral theme polymer pendant with pink and orange glass beads and dark filigree metal rounds.

This necklace has a beautiful polymer pendant by Jeni Houser Alasad along with vintage glass beads and metal darkened with Vintaj patina.

Brown and white flower pendant, bead and rounds made into a necklace with marled lampwork bead.

This necklace has a pendant and bead by NKP Designs, lampwork by Hannah Rosner, and vintage glass beads.

Asymmetrical multicolor (yellow, green, purple, orange) puzzle piece polymer elements with green glass circles made into earrings.

These earrings are polymer “puzzle” pieces by Sue-Lin Tarnowski with glass rings.

I’ll show one more pair of earrings.

Earrings with distressed gold connectors with fuschia and grey tiny tassels at the ends.

These earrings with repurposed gold connectors and tiny tassels just look like a party to me.

I hope you can stop by the Artists for Animals Auction and visit all week starting on Monday.

Artists for Animals Auction, Famous Vintage Bead Hoard Liquidation Destash, Goody Beads, Patti Vanderbloemen, Sue-Lin Tarnowski

I haven’t been too creative the last couple of weeks, but I don’t want to skip a lot of blog posts. So I will show my little makes of late.

A while ago I got some vintage pinch bails from Suzanne Branca’s Famous Vintage Bead Hoard Liquidation Destash. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them, but the ladder look of them is so cool. Then I got a few free project ideas with an order from Goody Beads.

I actually have some Swarovski heart pendants, but the scale of my bail was too big. In looking for what else I might have, I found another crystal pendant. I suspect this was gifted to me by Patti Vanderbloemen, but it got separated from its packaging, so I’m not sure. In any case, it was a nice size for the bail.

I had this awesome chain – in fact a ready-made necklace – in sparkly twisted gold. It goes quite well with the pendant. This photo doesn’t show everything as pretty and glittery as it is.

I also made a couple pair of earrings for the Artists for Animals Auction that will now be taking place in November. The first features peace sign connectors. I’ve always loved the peace symbol; it’s such a hopeful thing. I added vintage Miriam Haskell lemon rainbow glass dangles. They are so pretty. I got both of these components from Suzanne’s site as well.

My other pair features what I call “puzzle pieces” by Sue-Lin Tarnowski. I love the colors. I added a green glass hoop.

Thanks for having a look at my makes. I hope you are doing well.

Andrew Thornton, Artists for Animals Auction, Halcraft, Melinda Orr, SagaHus Components, Sue-Lin Tarnowski, vintage Swarovski crystals

Here I am again, too impatient to wait until I have good pictures. I was busy today making earrings for the Artists for Animals Auction coming up October 29 – November 4, 2018. My sales at this auction will benefit Madison Cat Project. I haven’t made a lot of earrings since I stopped wearing them, and I really fell out of practice. I feel like recently, in making earrings for this auction, I’ve gotten some earring mojo back. Here is a sneak peak.

These feature some metal components by Melinda Orr combined with sweet polymer charms by Andrew Thornton.

Next up are some that absolutely need a better picture because the components are so fabulous, but difficult to photograph. Large (12 mm) Vintage Swarovski Crystal Comet (24k gold) bicones with long, vintage solid brass drops. Both pieces, but especially the drops, have a great aged patina. This is how I like my bling – with a side of grunge. I LOVE these earrings.

Here are some that are pure fun. Vintage Japanese glass hoops paired with some new Halcraft handmade ceramic fish! Yellow is not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who like it (me!) these are a ray of sunshine.

When I knew I was going to participate in this auction, I started having a million ideas. I thought I’d be organized (just a minute – hahahahahaha!!!!!!) and put materials for ideas I had in a box. Well I did that for exactly one pair of earrings, but it’s a really delightful pair, featuring these blue SagaHus fabric and wire components.

The last pair I’ll show is another with hard to photograph crystals. These are large AB Swarovskis paired with polymer dangles by Sue-Lin Tarnowski. The flash in these cubes is so fabulous I used rainbow wires to match.

Ok, that’s the preview. I hope you will visit the Artists for Animals Auction starting October 29th to see these pieces (and much more) in their glory. Next weekend I’ll have a photo assistant, so I won’t have to take picture with one hand while holding the items with the other!
