Yes, I’m having a giveaway. Yes, what you get will be a mystery. No, it won’t necessarily contain your favorite things. (But it would be cool if it does!) Here’s how it works.
- Leave a comment about your favorite beady things (artists, materials, vintage or new, size, shape, findings, components – whatever!)
- The deadline is Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00 PM Central Time.
- I will choose a random person from all those who commented.
- I will put together a selection of goodies for you from my stash based on comments about your favorites.
- Enjoy!
One entry per person. I think this will be fun! Thanks for playing along.
My fav beady things are vintage jewelry
I love all beads! Vintage are great, even plastic, and also gemstones, glass, handmade, clay…. everything!
I love Czech beads and vintage metal components and hoard them because they are hard to come by for me locally. I prefer to work with mid sized chunky beads and findings than tiny ones
Compiling a list of my favorites could take DAYS!! But let’s see…I love buying artisan components, but always have a hard time working them into my jewelry. I think I just like hoarding those treasures and am afraid that I won’t do their work justice. What I also love are found objects and unique materials: old keys and buttons are two favorites. And, I definitely have a thing for glass beads, usually crystals (faceted glass) and Czech glass. I love bright colors, but my jewelry tends to stay a little more neutral. I am trying to work in more stones and gemstones into my work as well. I don’t often use very large or heavy beads – they boggle me completely. And, I find myself using a lot of darkened metals, nothing shiny. I adore antiqued brass and copper but also work in a gunmetal or antiqued silver from time to time. And, my latest obsession is upcycling old cookie tins. Ohmygoodness…my comment is longer than anyone else’s. I told you I could go on for days. Ha! Thanks so much for this opportunity.
