Most years around this time people in my climate find things a bit dreary. There are very few sunny days, lots of snow and even more cold. People are anxious for spring.
I’m usually very patient. I really enjoy winter and do better in cold weather than hot weather. But this year has been a bit oppressive with so many days below zero, -40 wind chills and the like. Wisconsinites love to talk about how hearty we are, but at this point I just feel like a worn out wimp. Some days I can’t get warm, and I’m exhausted putting on and taking off so many layers multiple times a day. It seems to be getting slightly better. Yesterday I only needed to wear one scarf instead of three. But then there is slush that refreezes into ice, rain that melts the snow (hello water in the basement) and general muddiness.
So I wanted to do something fun to chase away the blahs. How about a giveaway? I am giving away these:
The prize includes a pair of Jenny Blasen Pottery buttons, a leaf earring pair from Round Rabbit, a dragonfly pendant from Humblebeads, and a pair of bronzy droplets from Scorched Earth on Etsy. This is some yummy stuff!
There are three ways to enter, and you can get up to three chances to win.

I live in Southern Indiana, and this winter has been…long. We have had it all – snow, ice, freezing rain, below zero temps and lots of missed school days! Really really ready for spring!

Gorgeous beads and buttons, thanks for the chance to win. We live is SD so our weather has been similar to yours. Today is sunny and will be in the 30’s and all of next week is supposed to be the same. Sure hope the weatherman don’t change that. I’m soo ready for spring.
We have had snow on the ground for weeks and the temps have been below freezing for most of the winter. Today we have sun which is nice. But that means melting snow which means it will freeze into ice during the night. An all that means constant cleaning at the back door, wet gloves and boots. I am certainly ready for spring.
As for the lovely beads I would be thrilled to win them! Thanks so much for the chance.
I am up here in Washington and compared to the rest of the country we are doing well. We had snow for one day and then it melted, and we also have several days of freezing weather which isn’t that common. What is getting me is the gray skies.
I shared it on my blog.

Well, after having some very very hot weather down in Melbourne Australia over the last month or so, we have a cool damp day, although I can see the sun peeking through the clouds. I hope it doesn’t mean that summer is over, I’d like to play in the sunshine a little more before it’s gone completely!
New Brunswick, Canada, is getting snow, freezing rain, more snow and a kiss of wind. Lovely 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway, Ann!
Northen Virginia has had record lows as well, including a foot of snow that fell on Thursday…bitter cold winter for sure, though not as cold as you! I normally love the cold and snow, but my dog hates it! Lovely beads here…you are so generous! Hope it warms up for you!

I’m in Ontario, Canada and it sounds like we’ve had the same weather as you. I am so done with winter. It’s too cold and snowy and/or icy and spring can’t come soon enough! The only good thing is it will make everybody appreciate spring when it finally arrives. Your giveaway looks great and i would love to win.
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and we have been having beautiful sunny days in the 70’s. Although we have had some heavy rains lately which was needed so badly. It was lovely seeing the grass turn bright green. We moved here from Virginia which has had an extremely cold, snowy winter so we feel very thankful to be here where it’s so warm! The beads in your giveaway are beautiful!

Those are all gorgeous beads. Would love to win any of them. Right now, the weather FINALLY got warm again here in Texas. We don’t usually have much winter, but we’ve had more than our fair share this year. Sunny today and in the 70’s. YAY
Just tweeted about your post and great giveaway.

I live in north east Texas and our winter has been up and down, temperature wise. Last week we had temps in the 30’s and threat of freezing rain/precipitation and this week we are in the low to mid 70’s. Fun giveaway! I enjoy reading what other bloggers weather is like in their area.
I live in the northeast Georgia mountains. We’ve had big snow 3 times this year!!! That is incredible for Georgia. It is lovely today: 70 degrees and sunny. Thanks for this give away. kathy

Oh my gosh!! My sentiments exactly! I’m a Native Minnesotan and this winter HAS been l-o-n-g! Like you, I tire of putting on and taking off all the layers — thanks for your post, made me chuckle! I’m “Beads & Boutique” on FB.
